The ActiveYards 3000 Series and 5000 Series vinyl windows use a constant-force balance system with a 5/8-inch width, while the ActiveYards Pro Series (discontinued around 2018) used a block-and-tackle balance with a 3/4-inch housing. The label is usually found on the top of the sash or the edge of the door slab, stamped with a date code and model prefix.

Here’s the compatibility gotcha: ActiveYards changed its tilt-latch geometry between 2015 and 2017, so a latch from a 2016 unit won’t seat properly in a 2014 frame even if the window dimensions match. • Sash drops or won’t stay open. The balance system - either a coil spring or block-and-tackle - has lost tension. In Long Beach’s salt-air environment, we’ve seen balances corrode faster than inland specs suggest, sometimes inside of eight years.
