Blanco Kitchen Remodeling: The Long Beach Owner’s Guide

Blanco kitchen sink and faucet systems in Long Beach homes typically run $14,000-$45,000 for a full remodel that integrates the fixture properly with new cabinetry, countertops, and plumbing. We stock Blanco-compatible drains, strainers, and mounting hardware for same-day installation when the sink body is sound but the working parts have failed. Most Long Beach owners discover the problem when water pools beneath the Silgranit bowl, the pull-down hose loses pressure, or the strainer basket no longer seats flush after years of mineral buildup from our hard water.

Which Blanco Models This Applies To

Blanco labels its sinks by series and material: Silgranit PuraDur II and III (the composite granite line), Precision stainless, and the newer Quatrus and Valea lines. The strainer assembly, drain flange, and mounting clips differ across these. Silgranit drains use a 3.5-inch opening with a proprietary basket depth that sits lower than standard stainless drains, so a generic replacement will leave a visible gap and trap debris. The pull-down hose on Culina and Empressa faucets is a 3/8-inch braided line with a Blanco-specific quick-connect fitting; aftermarket hoses with standard 1/2-inch ends will not seat without an adapter that adds leak points.

We carry OEM strainers for the Silgranit II/III series and the matching stainless flanges for Precision models. For discontinued lines like the old Diamond Super Single, we machine-fit a quality aftermarket drain with a silicone compression seal that matches the original spec. The model number is stamped on the underside of the sink rim or inside the cabinet on the faucet supply line tag. Bring that number when you call; we’ll confirm fit before the truck rolls.

Signs Your Blanco Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

Signs Your Blanco Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
  • Water stains in the cabinet below. The Silgranit drain flange uses a two-part compression seal that hardens after 8-12 years in Long Beach’s dry heat. Once the rubber loses pliability, slow seepage follows the threads and pools on the cabinet floor. The fix is a full drain assembly replacement, not more caulk.
  • Pull-down hose that retracts weakly or sprays sideways. The counterweight and hose guide wear against each other, and the spray head o-rings degrade from chlorine and mineral content in Long Beach municipal water. Rebuilding the head helps briefly; the lasting fix is hose-and-head replacement as a matched set.
  • Strainer basket that spins freely or won’t hold water. The Silgranit basket uses a twist-lock post with a nylon cam that strips after repeated thermal cycling. Aftermarket baskets with metal cams last longer but require the correct post diameter, 2.25 inches on post-2014 models versus 2.125 on earlier runs.
  • Granite composite surface that feels rough or shows gray streaks. This is surface oxidation from abrasive cleaners, not a part failure, but it affects resale and often prompts the full remodel conversation. We assess whether refinishing is viable or if the bowl has thinned at the drain shoulder.
  • Faucet base that rocks or leaks at the deck. The mounting stud on Blanco’s single-hole faucets is a 2.5-inch brass bolt with a thin lock washer that compresses into particleboard countertops. In Long Beach’s older Belmont Heights and Bluff Park stock, we see this where original 1980s particleboard has degraded; the repair includes a reinforcing plate.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Service Long Beach Price Range
Blanco drain/strainer assembly replacement $800-$2,500
Pull-down hose and spray head replacement $2,000-$6,500
Faucet base remount with reinforcing plate $3,000-$10,000
Full kitchen remodel with Blanco fixture integration $14,000-$45,000

The spread reflects what we find when we open the cabinet. A straightforward drain swap on solid plywood with clean access runs toward the lower end. If the subdeck is rotted, the disposal needs rehanging, or the Silgranit bowl itself has cracked at the drain shoulder, costs shift. We write the full scope before work starts, including parts markup and labor hours, so the number you agree to is the number you pay. Under Clause 1 of The Haven Standard, no work proceeds on a change until the change order is signed. Our 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the installation and the parts we supply.

There is safe checking and there is risky work. An owner can confirm the model number, photograph the underside of the sink, and test whether the leak is from the drain body or the supply connection with a dry paper towel. What goes wrong fast is overtightening the Silgranit drain flange, which cracks the composite at the bowl shoulder, a $14,000-$45,000 problem instead of an $800-$2,500 one. The pull-down hose quick-connect fitting also releases under residual pressure; without shutting the angle stops and relieving the line, you’ll take water in the face and possibly flood the cabinet.

We do not recommend homeowner drain replacement on any undermount sink where the bowl is adhered to stone. The bowl can drop if the support clips are disturbed. Call (424) 567-7009 and we’ll schedule a free estimate with a written price before any tool comes out.
