Tamko’s paver and hardscape line centers on the Heritage Series, Appian Stone, and Old Town product families - these are the lines we encounter most frequently in Long Beach installations from the 2015-2022 building wave. For edge restraint, Tamko specifies either rigid aluminum (Heritage) or flexible PVC (Appian/Old Town) - substituting one for the other voids the installer’s warranty in most cases. We carry OEM-compatible bedding sand graded to ICPI spec (ASTM C144) and aftermarket edge restraint from Perma-Edge that meets or exceeds Tamko’s pull-resistance standard. Signs Your Tamko Driveway & Pavers Is Failing

• Sunken or tilted pavers near the garage apron or street edge. This indicates base erosion, usually from insufficient compaction during original install or water intrusion through failed edge restraint. The fix requires removing affected stones, recompacting the aggregate base in 6-inch lifts, and resetting with fresh bedding sand.
• Weeds or grass growing between joints. Polymeric sand breakdown is the culprit - UV exposure and salt air in Long Beach accelerate degradation. Simple re-sanding fails if the root system has compromised the bedding layer; we pull and relay in those zones.
• White haze or efflorescence on paver faces. Calcium hydroxide migration from the concrete base, common after wet winters near the coast. It’s cosmetic but signals moisture trapped below. We address the drainage path, not just the surface stain.
• Loose or shifting pavers under vehicle loading. Bedding sand has washed out or was never screeded to uniform 1-inch depth. Driving on loose pavers crushes the bedding layer further; the repair zone expands the longer it’s driven on.
• Standing water 48 hours after rain. Grade reversal in the substrate, often from tree-root heave or soil settlement in Long Beach’s sandy loam zones. Regrading with laser-level precision is required; simply adding surface material creates a dam, not a slope.
